Types Of Wind Turbines

There are many countless types of wind turbines out on the market. You may think that they are just like any other product out there on the market, that there are other designs and different types of wind turbines because they are each of varying quality and offer varying results. With just about any other type of product, you’d be right, but this is not the case with wind turbines. For whatever reason, we have chosen to continue developing and trying new designs out in the world of wind turbines even though none of these designs happen to improve upon the original. The original wind turbine, it could be argued, is actually the wind mill, because it was designed to utilize the power of the wind in order to complete a task and it really was a type of device that relied solely on the wind, but it really does not compare to any of the other types of wind turbines invented in the modern age because those are all designed to take the energy supplied by the power of wind and store this energy away to be used at will. The wind mill was used for a single task and the energy collected by modern turbines can be used towards any task that requires an electrical outlet basically.

Regardless of all of that though, this article is about new developments in turbine technology and the long and short if it is, there really aren’t any. There have been tons and tons of devices designed, and aside from the multibillion dollar one of a kind devices that operate on some level we can barely conceive of, there are really no devices that compare to the good old standard pin wheel device. It took us a long time to perfect the pin wheel design, but now that we have there is really nothing else that can be done about ti improve it. People try to develop disc shaped wind turbines, weird sphere shaped turbines, and helix shaped turbines, and even gigantic ovals that look like an Easter egg when they are spinning, but whatever the design, none of these multimillion dollar projects have prove to be any more efficient than the good old fashioned pin wheel. On the contrary, some have been catastrophically less efficient and ended up costing more money than they helped to raise. One needs to take into account what kinds of wind turbines they need for the environment, but when I doubt, go with the pin wheel.
