Urban Wind Turbines

When you go around and see a town that has wind turbines right next to it, these are generally not referred to as urban wind turbines in and of themselves. The real urban wind turbines would be whichever of the turbines provide the most electricity to the biggest part of the population. The wind generators used to power the entire city are just called wind farms. However each specific component is a wind turbine and therefore each specific component could therefore be referred to as one of many urban wind turbines. What is more likely an urban wind turbine however, is any turbine that is used in an urban setting. This means all the backyard generators in the back of people’s houses helping to provide power to one or two non crucial home items is one of these special kinds of turbines. Urban wind turbines help our environment greatly. You may think that it is not by a large margin. It is this line of thought that prevents us from switching over to entirely wind powered energy at this stage in life and it is entirely because of this reason that we are going to all die soon of the coal shortage. You may still think that it would not be of a significant impact, but picture this equation if you will and it will help you better understand why these generators are so important.

Say that you have about 20 different plugs or electronic devices turned on at any time in the house, and let’s say that your yearly electricity total in your bill is 1,200 dollars, or 120 dollars per month. These statistics are pretty inaccurate considering how much it actually takes in order to power that much of a house, but just picture this. Now let’s say that you build a little domestic wind turbine in the back yard that will have two different power outlets in it. If you take just two of those devices and plug them into the wind generator outside, you will have saved yourself 180 dollars by year’s end and your bill would only be a mere 1,080 dollars. Not only this, but if everyone were to do this simple thing and use just two plugs, we would be able to cut down on the world’s coal usage by a full ten percent, all the while saving ourselves money and pulling our economy out of a recession. We could all do this with just a few wind turbines and it is so easy, I suggest we try.
