Vawt Wind Turbine

A VAWT wind turbine is sort of a redundant name because the wt in the name VAWT wind turbine stands for wind turbine. So when people use the phrase “VAWT wind turbine” the wind turbine segment is redundant. Anyhow, this type of turbine is a vertical axis wind turbine and the major advantage to it is the fact that it is on a vertical axis. It is a little bit harder to build if you are trying to do a do it yourself kind of assembly which is why most people shy away from it unless they are purchasing it, but it is also an efficient way of gathering wind energy. It is not known whether or not this is a more efficient design than only of the other designs currently on the market. It is also not as if this design is any more expensive than the standard design, or at least not as if it should be. If you were going to build one yourself it would just take a lot of will power, the willingness to deal with a lot of mistakes and start over if necessary and a lot of metal cutting and metal heating tools, as metal is really the only way to make one of these. Lengths of pipe won’t cut it, and neither will plastic, at least not for the average person. You’d need a special design for that type of thing.

Anyway, the main appeal for this lies in its image. Because the arms of it extend to such a length it appears to be more efficient than the standard kind, but it honestly is not. It is no more efficient and we can know this for sure because just look at the facts. If we all knew of a way to make a product that was clearly more efficient at doing what it needed to do as the rest, about reasonably as sophisticated, and cost the same amount to make, produce, and buy, then why would the other product even exist still. Other wind turbines would have been taken off shelves long ago if this was indisputably better but it is not. People are always trying to improve on the design of the original type of wind turbine but it is likely that the VAWT wind turbine is no more efficient or better than your standard kind. It looks cool though and that is a plus for anyone that may want to purchase a wind turbine for aesthetic reasons as well as regular reasons.
