Wind Farm Construction

Wind farm construction is extremely expensive. This is chiefly why it takes so long to build them. There are many government grant programs out there to assist companies looking got become more energy efficient by creating some new wind farms, but these are few and far between and you have to show that you are really committed. Unless you are a multibillion dollar corporation and willing to take a major hit in the wallet in order to get your wind farm construction started, it is unlikely you ever will without government assistance. To put into perspective just how expensive it is to begin and complete wind form construction, think of this, at one point Bill Gates, one of the 5 richest men in the world, was worth around 45 billion dollars. If he sold all of his assets and you totaled up his entire net worth, he would have enough money to build about 9 respectable and operational wind farms if he stretched it a bit and added an extra couple billion for room to breathe. Then these farms would go on to affect approximately 1.5% of the country’s energy usage. This is how big of a deal the construction of an energy farm is. This is no walk in the park either, it takes years of planning. You cannot simply choose a spot and say that is where you want to build your wind farm. You will have to spend a preliminary stage looking for where you want to place it and what place would generate the most wind. Then you want to decide which areas you are going to service and then you want to decide when you are going to have this all implemented by and come up with realistic predictions of when you expect construction to be finished. You cannot simply state the day you want it to be finished and hope it will be done by then. This type of construction is very precise, highly specialized, and takes a long time. Your5 billion dollars per farm is not being thrown away, you’re getting what you pay for, and unfortunately quality takes time.

The problem here is we do not have much time. With only 50 years until coal is no longer a viable form of energy we can rely on, we need to either, slash the population down by about 2/3, cut our electricity usage down by about 40%, or build all of the necessary farms in time.
