Wind Turbine Manufacturers

There has been a global realization that the levels of carbon emissions into the atmosphere are alarming. Since the damage cannot be undone, the only alternative is to turn to renewable sources of energy for power production. Wind energy has been considered as a likely investment, and many manufacturing companies have come up to provide the needed infrastructure that can turn the wind’s kinetic energy into electrical energy. There are companies that started long ago, and have had their signature felt in the world of power production.

Wind turbine manufacturers are involved in the production of wind turbines. There are differences in the kinds of turbines manufactured, in terms of shape, size and features. The leading manufacturers interest themselves in the production of commercial turbines. These are the gigantic structures used both onshore and offshore for wind power harnessing. The most common designs are vertical axis wind turbines and horizontal axis wind turbines. There are not many design ideas conceptualized because the aforementioned are the most practical for their purpose.

Wind turbine manufacturers can either invest in the production of large or small-scale wind turbines. The latter are used in domestic settings, where the power goals aimed at are not very monumental. Admittedly, these are the turbines used in homes, and other related settings. For most manufacturers’ it’s a tough balancing act, manufacturing both small and large scale wind turbines. That’s why each of those, have distinct industry players. In any case, the production goals are similar, and that is, each turbine manufactured, under optimum environmental conditions, should produce a preset value of energy. For instance, some of the large scale wind turbines are set to say, 2.5 or 4.0MW.

Europe is perhaps the biggest involved continent as far as wind turbine manufacturing is concerned. For starters, it holds the biggest manufacturing company in the world, which is Vestas, based in Denmark GEWind Energy follows in a close second, though this company is based in the United States. Other well known wind turbine manufacturers include REpower, Dongfang, Enercon and Siemens Wind Power.

There is growth in the wind turbine manufacturing industry, and this is most likely because of the growing encouragement to adopt more eco-friendly methods of energy production. With the pre-set goals to reduce carbon emissions as much as possible, wind energy is providing a way out. And with the wind turbine manufacturers providing the needed infrastructure to accomplish those goals, there is no reason why they should not be reached.
